Project Description

…Small Bathroom Remodel in Greenburgh, NY”…

For years, this bathroom never quite worked for the family. Although the space was small, it served as a shared bathroom for multiple rooms and lacked the storage, flow, and comfort needed for daily use. The layout limited functionality, making the room feel tighter and less efficient than it should have been.

This small bathroom remodel in Greenburgh, NY required a thoughtful approach to improve circulation, usability, and long-term comfort — all within the existing footprint.

The Original Plan: A Simple Bathroom Refresh

This hallway bathroom was one of two bathrooms in the home. While the primary bathroom was slated for a major renovation, this space was initially intended to be a light refresh — keeping the existing layout while upgrading finishes and materials.

After evaluating the existing plumbing, ventilation, and overall structure, we prepared drawings, secured the necessary permits, and began construction with the original scope in mind.

A Critical Layout Decision Made During Construction

One of the advantages of our design-build process is consistent on-site review. During our weekly walkthroughs, we assess progress and look for opportunities to improve the final outcome.

During one of these check-ins, we identified a significant layout opportunity. By relocating the tub and toilet and removing an outdated dividing wall, we could dramatically improve circulation, visual openness, and daily usability — all within the existing footprint.

Mid-project decisions can feel intimidating for homeowners, but this phase is often the best time to make smart adjustments. Addressing layout issues during construction avoids costly regrets later. After reviewing the benefits, our clients decided to move forward with the improved plan.
