Kitchen Remodel in Bronxville, NY — Refining an Already Well-Planned Layout

 “BEFORE” PHOTOS:

A Well-Planned Kitchen That Simply Needed Updating

There are times when a kitchen doesn’t need to be reinvented—just respected, refined, and brought forward.

From the moment you stepped in, it was clear that this kitchen had been thoughtfully planned decades ago. The footprint made sense. The workflow worked. Major elements were already positioned where they belonged. It was likely a standout kitchen in its time—designed with intention, not guesswork. What it lacked wasn’t function, but relevance.

Design Approach

Modernizing the Space Without Disrupting What Worked

When we were brought in, the brief was clear: move the kitchen out of the 1970s and into the present day—without stripping away its character or disrupting what already worked. Unlike many of our Bronxville kitchen remodeling projects, this was not about opening walls or reconfiguring circulation.

Architectural Details

Custom Elements That Tie the Kitchen to the Home

One of the most impactful changes was opening up the upper portion above the range, instantly giving the kitchen a lighter, more open feel. The hood was properly vented to the exterior, improving performance while remaining visually understated.

At the center of the room, a custom double-arched glass cabinet was designed to echo the existing window architecture of the home—an intentional detail that helped the kitchen feel connected to the rest of the house rather than newly imposed.

Cabinetry & Storage

Quality Construction with Purpose-Driven Organization

Cabinetry quality was a priority. Well-built custom cabinets were selected to align with the direction the rest of the home was already heading—timeless, solid, and built to last. Storage was upgraded where it mattered most: deep drawers for everyday access, double recycling pull-outs, and dedicated space for baking trays and oversized items.

Lighting & Performance

Subtle Upgrades That Improved Everyday Use

LED lighting was layered throughout the kitchen to improve visibility and usability without overwhelming the space. These quiet upgrades elevated how the kitchen functioned day to day, enhancing comfort while keeping the visual language restrained.

Materials & Finishes

Clean, Timeless Selections with Longevity in Mind

Quartz countertops provided durability and a refined surface that fit naturally within the home. A simple white backsplash kept the palette calm and cohesive, allowing the cabinetry and architectural details to lead. Stainless steel appliances and hardware added balance and contrast without pushing the kitchen toward a trend-driven look.

The Result

A Kitchen Brought Forward—Without Losing Its Identity

This project is a reminder that good design doesn’t always require dramatic change. Sometimes the best results come from knowing what to preserve and where to refine. Seeing this Bronxville kitchen come together—from concept through completion—while honoring its original intent made it a project we were genuinely proud to be part of.
