Project Description
Kitchen Remodel in New Rochelle, NY- Chef-Inspired
There are kitchens that look good — and there are kitchens that have to perform.
This New Rochelle home belonged to an avid cook who treated the kitchen like a true working space. Entertaining was frequent, meals were serious, and the room had to function under real pressure. But the existing layout was fighting against him. The flow was tight, storage was limited, and the space felt squeezed instead of confident.
The goal wasn’t to create something flashy. It was to design a kitchen that could handle professional-grade cooking while still feeling warm enough for family gatherings and evening conversations.
This wasn’t just about new cabinets. It was about reengineering the space.
Rethinking the Flow
The original kitchen lacked efficiency. Appliances were poorly positioned, circulation was restricted, and prep zones overlapped in ways that slowed everything down.
We relocated the sink, range, and refrigerator to establish a more intentional work triangle. The new layout improved movement between cooking, prep, and serving — making the kitchen feel larger without changing the footprint dramatically.
A tapered peninsula was introduced to create additional prep space while maintaining connection to the surrounding rooms. It added storage on both sides, built-in microwave access, charging stations, and casual seating without overwhelming the room.
This kitchen needed to breathe.
Built for Real Cooking
Because this homeowner cooks seriously, we designed around professional-grade appliances.
-
36″ commercial-style burner range
-
Massive 42″ hood designed to manage heat and grease effectively
-
High-performance ventilation system
-
LED task lighting integrated throughout
This is not a decorative kitchen. It was built to handle volume, heat, and performance.
At the same time, we balanced the strength of those appliances with soft finishes — crown moldings, under-cabinet lighting, carefully selected hardware, and a warm gray countertop paired with a contrasting backsplash tile.
Strong where it needed to be. Inviting where it mattered.
Craftsmanship & Accountability
No remodel is perfect from start to finish.
During flooring installation, an accidental window break occurred. Within a week, the window was replaced and we repainted the adjacent dining area — not because we had to, but because that’s how we operate.
In remodeling, the real test isn’t whether something goes wrong. It’s how quickly and responsibly you respond.
The project finished strong, and today this New Rochelle kitchen serves exactly the purpose it was designed for — serious cooking, comfortable entertaining, and a space that works as hard as its owner.
