Project Description
Hartsdale NY Kitchen remodel -Blue and Beautiful
We were brought in to rework a small kitchen in Hartsdale that no longer fit the needs of a young, growing family. The space was closed off from the rest of the home, creating visual disconnect and blind spots — something that becomes a real concern when you have kids and need to stay connected to what’s happening around you.
The goal was clear: open up the space, improve flow, and make the kitchen feel like part of the home — not separate from it.
The Challenge
The kitchen sat directly in line with the main entry, meaning it would be one of the first things you see when walking into the home. That raised the bar for how it needed to look and feel.
At the same time, it still had to function as a true working kitchen — with proper storage, prep space, and enough seating for everyday life, from meals to homework.
A Bold Design Decision
One of the defining features of this project was the cabinetry. The client chose a bold ocean blue finish — a decision they committed to early on, even before seeing a full sample.
That choice paid off. The color became a focal point, giving the kitchen a distinct identity while still feeling grounded within the home.
“AFTER” PHOTOS:
Maximizing Function
We maximized the island by building cabinetry on three sides, creating a significant amount of practical storage.
The island was also designed around an existing structural beam that couldn’t be moved. Instead of treating it as an obstacle, we incorporated it into the design, with the countertop precisely fabricated on-site to wrap around it.

Designing Within Constraints
Budget played a role in this project, as it often does. This remodel extended beyond the kitchen into other parts of the home, including bathrooms and closets.
Rather than overextending the scope, we focused on making the right structural and mechanical moves where they mattered most, then designed around them to elevate the entire space.
The Result
The finished kitchen is open, functional, and visually striking — built to support how this family lives day to day.
This is what defines our approach. Kitchen remodeling is not just about finishes — it’s about understanding the space, solving real problems, and making decisions that improve how the home works as a whole.
